New Year’s Realization 2015

Well today is January 1st, 2015; the day everyone starts of with their New Year’s Resolution‘s. Resolutions range from quitting smoking to being a better person, yada yada yada! I guess you can sense that I do not really believe in New Year’s Resolutions. In fact, I despise them. I mean, COME ON, do you really need one day to wake up and decide you are going to be a better person for the next 365 days?

Instead of a New Year’s Resolution, I have decided to call it New Year’s Realization. I realize that 2014 just didn’t go the way I wanted it to. It really wasn’t even close to what I had all planned out in 2013. Everything I thought I would do in 2014, I failed at. Failure just isn’t an option. So here I sit today putting my realizations into writing so that it is proof and maybe in 2015 I will actually succeed at at least one of them.

1) Get Healthy ~ I’ve been saying for months that I am going to lose weight. I don’t want to just lose weight cause anyone can do that, but I want to get healthy while I am losing weight. I am tired of feeling crumby everyday. I have no energy to even get out of bed most days. With 4 kids that is just not acceptable. However, in order to make this work I am going to need you all to hold me accountable. HELP KEEP ME ON TRACK! If you are also wanting to get healthy this year, let me know in the comments or on my Facebook page and we will buddy up and keep each other going.

2) Get Organized ~ We have lived in our new house for 1 year and well it is DEFINITELY lived in. I have double the square footage of my old house and yet I feel like I have nowhere to put anything. Well maybe the problem is we just have too much JUNK! So in order to succeed at this I have joined a Facebook group called 2015 in 2015(you can join to if ya like). It’s a great group of people that are dedicated to getting rid of 2015 items during the year of 2015. Some have already gotten started and have a third of their goal done…I am sitting at 4 items LOL but that’s 4 items towards my goal! Let me know if you join!

3) BUDGET ~ Finally, well not finally cause I am sure there are a ton more I could come up with but these 3 are the most important and if I overload myself just typing it all I’ll never stop to actually do any of them. I would love to find better ways to budget. We are a family of 6 on one income and here lately it seems like we have more money going out than coming in. I am sure some of you can relate. I tried couponing, I’ve tried savings techniques; I am just not really good at any of them but I am determined to figure it out. What are ways you budget or save?

Well here’s to a New Year’s Realization! What is on your list of New Year’s Realizations Hope 2015 is a good one for you and your family!

Buy 1 Get 1 FREE ~ Box of Mrs. Cavanaugh’s Chocolates

{Disclosure} I received a complimentary box of Mrs. Cavanaugh’s chocolates in exchange for posting this special offer. My opinions are my own.

Christmas is quickly approaching and it never fails; that unexpected guest arrives and you are scrambling to provide a snack or a gift for exchange. Well never fear because I have the perfect thing just for you. A yummy 1 lb. box of Mrs. Cavanaugh’s chocolates. Who doesn’t love a couple chocolates and maybe a bottle of wine but that is for another post entirely.

Here is a little background information on how Mrs. Cavanaugh’s Chocolates began:

Time was when Marie Cavanaugh spent hours in her South Dakota farmhouse each Christmas season making pecan rolls and homemade chocolates for holiday gifting.

“It started when my aunt sent her pecan-rolls recipe,” Mrs. Cavanaugh recalled. “I gave the recipe my own touch and started making the yummy specialties. Then I began dipping chocolates. Our friends and neighbors loved these treats, encouraging me to start a candy business. Finally, I decided it might be a good idea.'”

Her husband George and children Carla, Lorraine, Calvin, Colene and Genise rallied, helping Mrs. Cavanaugh fill demands for her homemade sweets.

…In 1972, the family moved to Utah, leaving good friends and their beloved cattle ranch.

“It was a difficult decision, especially for George,” Mrs. Cavanaugh said. “He was excited about making our new venture, which we chose to call Mrs. Cavanaugh’s Candies, a great success. We felt Utah was blessed with good chocolates and that we would enjoy – and could compete with – those who pride themselves on making excellent chocolates.”

Millions of pounds of chocolates later, Mrs. Cavanaugh’s candies have earned a reputation for unquestionable excellence….
Ask chocolate aficionados. They will direct those seeking the best chocolates to the popular Mrs. Cavanaugh’s Candies.

The Stay At Home Parents Paycheck ~You Can’t Afford Them

Over the years I have read several articles regarding what a stay at home parent does all day. While doing some Google searching I ran across the FABULOUS Matt Walsh Blog and his article “You’re a stay-at-home-mom? What do you do all day?” It really floors me to think that with the centuries of stay at home parents, that people are still confused by the concept.

No, I do not sit on the couch watching soap operas and eating bon bons all day. I also do not wear cute little dresses and aprons and bake cute little Pinterest like desserts. Though, I have been known to whip up an awesome trifle from time to time. I actually do quite a bit of productive “jobs” in my 18 hour days.

Basically what I am trying to say is if a stay at home parent actually received a paycheck; YOU COULDN’T AFFORD THEM!

I decided to make a list of all the jobs I have been known to do and how much I would make in a year..I promise you the numbers are mind blowing.

Daycare Director ~ $51,290

Chauffeur ~ $25,020

Chef ~ $46,600

Maid ~ $19,390

Emergency Medical Technician ~ $38,400

Therapist ~ $86,000 *Yup that’s right, have you ever had a distraught prepubescent tween?*

Tutor ~ $19, 200

Interior Decorator ~ $40,000

Accountant ~ $41,701

Landscaper ~ $19,290

Handyman ~ $24,850

Referee ~ $75,000

Total ~ $435,451 a year

That breaks down to $8374.05 a week or $209.35 an hour. Told you..MIND BLOWING. I rest my case, stay at home parents might as well be The President :) So next time someone asks you what you do all day, you will have a multiple answers to choose from.

I am sure I left out a few jobs so be sure to leave a comment with a job you do as a stay at home parent.

It Works! Wraps Giveaway

The It Works! Wrap Giveaway

Hosted by Crazy Wrap Bleuer

The wraps have an all-natural, plant-based lotion on them that absorbs into the fatty tissue layer and jump-starts a toxin release process. By drinking a lot of water, the toxins are flushed out, and the fatty tissue cells shrink, thereby shrinking your fatty tissue layer itself. You will notice that your skin is tightened, toned and firmed! You leave the site specific wrap on for a minimum of 45 minutes. Most people see immediate results although the best and final result comes at 72 hours!! You can keep wrapping every 72 hours. Below you will see the results that I had after two wraps. banner

A box of four wraps retails for $99. However, very few people choose to pay retail for our products! You can get a box of four wraps (a treatment) for only $59 plus tax/shipping through what the company calls the “Loyal Customer” program – you agree to buy one product a month for three months (This would be Month 1), and after that you never have to buy anything again. However, if you did want to come back and purchase something in the future, you would always be at the Loyal Customer price. The company waives the $50 membership fee when you agree to the three months.
